Minutes of Redlands Water Bottle Transit Company Meeting May 7, 2007

# of Attendees: 13

Mark Benson announced Jerry Cowden had obtained $400 sponsorship from Don’s Bike Shop; reminded everyone the current ad hoc Nominating Committee was Jerry Cowden, Robert Rentschler, and himself; announced that the Redlands Bike Classic committee might be changing their meeting night from the 1 st Monday of each month (Bo King will find out for us); raised the question of whether we should move our meeting night to the 2 nd or 3 rd Monday monthly because of when our newsletter comes out and our bank statement arrives. After discussion it was felt best to defer a decision until we know whether the Bike Classic committee will be changing their meeting night, and if so, to what night each month (to avoid meeting conflict).

Diana Morningstar announced that Jonathan Baty and his wife were talking with University of Redlands administrators about the possibility of RWBTC jointly putting on a Centennial Century in October, to commemorate the U. of R. Centennial. Also, possibly our having a booth at the U. of R. Centennial Weekend Saturday 5/19. There was general support for these concepts.

Robert Rentschler presented the ad hoc Nominating Committee recommendations (based upon ability and willingness to serve, per phone survey of members):

and Eric Reiser for their slides, and to everybody who contributed to
the Potluck dinner.

Ride leading responsibilities and ride leader recruitment were

Discussed both the upcoming Mother's and Father's Day rides.
Discussed the possibility of resurrecting the Sunday breakfast rides,
now that the Airport Cafe Express is open on Sundays.  Discussed the
Regional Ride being planned for June 10th.

The club is still need of a volunteer to plan the July picnic,
tentatively scheduled for July 9th.  Marie may be willing to help,
Chuck may be willing to host.

Don is planning to host the RWBTC booth at the Yucaipa Iris Festival
on May 20 &21.  Additional volunteers are welcome and encouraged.

An alternative location to the September pizza party was discussed
with mixed reactions.  No changes at this time.

The continued unknowns about a future GFE location was discussed.  No
new news, sponsors, or ride locations at this time.

Ken Decroo will show slides, at the July meeting, from the recent
Grand Prix cycling event.
